The right way to read KGV's numbers is scale: a 36.7 average across 214 candidates is a different organisational achievement from a similar score in a cohort of sixty. KGV also averaged 38.5 as recently as 2025, so year-to-year movement is normal — the floor stays high.

The ESF pathway: IGCSE into IB

Like all ESF secondaries, KGV runs IGCSE in the middle years and the IB Diploma in the final two. The transition matters for university planning: IB HL subject choices in Year 12 lock which university courses stay open, and predicted grades issued early in Year 13 carry the application. Families who plan subject selection with target universities in mind keep the most doors open.
